COSI Columbus | Mascot - RATiO
RATiO COSI Mascot

"RATiO"  |  COSI's Mascot

RATiO, like the math term pronounced
"ray-shee-oh," is a young, cuddly, and
curious rat who is both interested in
exploring science and having fun!

He can perform experiments and question
hypotheses in his lab coat and goggles,
and he can shoot hoops and entertain
crowds in his basketball uniform for adults
and children of all ages.

RATiO is intended to represent COSI's classic rat basketball program which as been around since the early 1980's. In addition, RATiO is a tribute to the old Central High School building, in which COSI is located, who were known as the River Rats.

Costume Production

RATiO was produced by Costume Specialists, a local character production and retail operation located in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Costume Specialists was chosen based on the quality of their work and high-profile clientele. Their designs, fabric, and construction quality are superior, and their location allowed COSI to be involved and hands-on throughout the process.

Mascot Purpose

COSI's mascot will serve as a
complement to our brand identity and
outreach in the community
representing COSI at fairs, festivals,
and special events.

Young children are drawn to costume
characters, and COSI hopes that
RATiO will serve as a friendly and
unique way to connect children
and adults with science.
