> I am new to this and my understanding of GIS is extremely limited. All I want to do is get a shapefile of the Atlantic coast of the US. Thats all. I am finding this one task extremely difficult. All want to do is add my study locations onto a map. I have tried looking on Geo-Community (maybe my search terms aren't correct), I have googled. I can find states fairly easily. I would prefer a Atlantic US coast shapefile.

There is a software that has the shape file of every nation of the world but I can't attach it here for you because it's heavy, the name is Map liberty look for it. I don't know whether you are helped
