We are currently working on a project to create geolandforms for a large portion of the Central United States. We have 30 meter DEM's (NED) which we used to create the landforms, but we have not been able to come up with a good source for surface geology. We tried to manipulate the STATSGO soils polygons as a surrogate. However, we really couldn't come up with an acceptable way to get at parent material. Does anyone know of a free or reasonably priced source for geology that is available for all the coterminous US? We need 1:100,000 or better.
