Hello again,
I thought I'd offer up a couple of housekeeping tips in
response to some commonly asked questions.
If you ever have problems posting to the list or getting
removed from the list it may have something to do with your
return email address. what I mean is, often people use email
aliases and may actually be sending from an address
different from what they think. for example, I have an email
address gletham@geocomm.com, however, this is an alias for
editor@geocomm.com
If I have my return email path set to gletham@geocomm.com
but I'm suscribed to the list as editor@geocomm.com then
I'll have problems posting and/or getting removed from the
list.
To find out how/who you are subscribed to the list as there
are a couple of options, depending on your email client:
Netscape - select a message, View/Headers/All
this will reveal a detailed header (see below).
Return-Path:
<gislist-return-3035-geocomm.com-editor=geocomm.com@geocomm.com>
Delivered-To: geocomm.com-gletham@geocomm.com

Notice the first line "Return-Path" - editor=geocomm.com
I am therefore registered as editor@geocomm.com
MS Outlook (or Lookout!)
right-click on the message
Properties/Details - the return path is in the first line.
