I have a project that I have been working on for about a year, which uses 92 DEMs as a base for delineating watersheds...I found out that there are errors in the old DEMs, and purchased the new ones, in SDTS format, from the new source, on CD. I purchased the whole state of Texas, so I would have them all later. In a recent list response, T.C. Herman [therman@geocomm.com\ said <<E. Software vendors that support the new SDTS DEMs with z-units of feet, > meters, and decimal meters: > ArcInfo 8, ArcView 8 via ArcToolbox. > ArcView3.2 (requires editing of xxxxIDEN.DDF) > ERDAS Imagine 8.4 (requires editing of xxxxIDEN.DDF ) > Manifold 5 > FME > 3DEM > MicroDEM>> > Can anyone tell me what editing to the xxxxIDEN.DDF file has to be done to make the DEMs worth having, i.e. can be imported into ArcView using the SDTS to Raster Conversion Utility? I would appreciate any help you can give in this matter...After all the work I have done to select, copy, decompress and try to use this 'investment' I have made, I realize that I could have bought the seamless version of my study area for about the same amount...
