I don't know about "hammers," but I did notice in Fred Limp's recent
review of ArcView 8.1 in GEO World, he specifically refers people to
ESRI for price. That's unusual for a review: you usually list the
suggested retail price and everyone tries to negotiate deals with
the sales reps from there.

Are you hinting that this "big hammer" is something that prevents
people from discussing what they paid for ArcView, or that reviewers
have to sign license agreements before they can review this
software?
