Subject: GISList: SUM: ArcView 3.2 to 3.0

From:  Gordon, Heather C.

Dearest Listers:
Wow! Thanks for the speedy, efficient, and spot-on replies! I especially
want to thank Robert Le Clair, Michael Lyzaniwski, and Gene Stahl. Michael
reports that they haven't had any problems using 8.1 files with AV3.2, which
is encouraging. I wonder if, with the ever-evolving 'ESRI paradigm', there
will be a day when bringing in a 3.2 shapefile is like importing a *.dxf.
Just a thought. Gene asked if I could encourage the contractor to get an
update- I only wish it were so. I've worked for this particular government
agency, and I would liken their contract (with ESRI and company) which
supplies both computers and GIS software to a web- with one very happy
spider. Pity the poor fly. They'll be stuck for a long time.
Richard sent along the perfect script to remove any extras from a 3.2
project to make it compatible with 3.0. You can download it here:

Thanks again for your help!
Heather
