Canadian metadata content basically follows the lead of the US based Federal
Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). The Inter-Agency Committee on Geomatics
(IACG) has taken the lead role in guiding federal and provincial governments
and the
commercial sector to create the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure
(CGDI).

In Canada, Natural Resources Canada has been a leader in promoting the use
of the FGDC standard. They are actively engaged in the Canadian Geospatial
Data Infrastructure.
Also, there is a relatively new discussion list focused on metadata called
Metadata-L. The main objective of this list is to provide the GIS community
with an open forum to share ideas and discuss metadata issues and
strategies.

Hi List,
Does anyone know where I could locate metadata standards outlined by
Canadian Government. I have found data discussing the issues but no outline
as to implemetation or procedures of the metadata standards. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!
