I am hoping to assign a market size code to block groups. I am aware of the A.C. Nielsen county definitions which defines counties as being County Size A, B, C and D. Having a file which lists a corresponding market size for each county would then allow me to attach the market size code to the block groups within the county. Is anyone aware of where such a file can be downloaded for free?
I have also heard of a file which identifies the market size (using A,B,C or D) of zipcodes. Would the zipcode boundaries not differ from the county boundaries making the designation unclear? Would the areas being defined in terms of market size not differ? Is there a reason for using one file or the other?
Is anyone familiar with this data and/or had any experience or information I should be aware of? I would greatly appreciate it and would summarize the information I receive for the GISList. Thanks!
