digital topography bundle is just what you need.=20
You get this.
Orr and Associates DCW+VMAP0. 1:1,000,000 scale Topography of the world. =
This data set was created by combining the latest two versions of the =
DCW, a process that makes this version the most up to date and most =
complete version available anywhere today. The data set includes 950 =
megabytes of topography data (e.g. drainage, roads, towns, railways, =
political boundaries, airports, contours etc). Also you don't have to =
waste time converting E00 files or dealing with fragmented coverages as =
our version is available in MapInfo for ArcView formats and each =
layer/theme has been stitched into continuous global coverages.=20
Plus this.
World 250k Coastline/Political Map. You won't get this data set anywhere =
else, a 1:250k scale coastline and country coverage for the entire =
world. This file consists of just under 183,000 individual regions fully =
attributed by "country" and "region". In addition 22,000 islands have =
been attributed by "name". The coverage includes the state boundaries of =
Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Australia as well as the outlines of the =
Great Lakes and the Caspian Sea. Numerous errors and omissions in the =
original data have been corrected.=20

the world. Data in USGS DEM format with a resolution of approximately =
1km.
