I downloaded some of the tiles from the NOAA site, GLOBE 1-km DEMs. The
instructions for importing them requires ARC/INFO which I don't have access
to. I unzipped the files, renamed them to .bil files as the instructions
suggested and opened them in Arc/View. They have headers so I figured it
would be alright. I used the Spatial Analyst to convert them to grids. I want
to do a cost surface analysis on them but when I go to derive the slope
everything comes out at 80-90% slope which I
know isn't true. Any ideas as to where I went wrong?
