Listers,
Many thanks to Kirsten Lawrence, Erika Poulsen, and Humberto Perotto who
helped me with transfering attributes.
The simplest answer was to select the polygons within the theme and use
"Theme/Convert to shapefile". This transfered the attribute table intact.
