I'm using the same hardware that you are and you should know a few things.
No post-processing in Arcpad, but it will accept a MrSID image that we use
for digitizing in the field. Trimble's TerraSync will do both (the brand
new version) but is a little more spendy. We use a few iPAQ's with 2GB
PCMCIA harddrives, so we take a 544MB image of all of Salt Lake City out
into the field with us. My understanding of pocket CAD is limited, but I
don't think that it'll take MrSID images or GPS data.

Dear List,
Has anyone out there had any experience with either ESRI's ArcPad,
AutoDesk's On SIte View, or PocketCAD? I am interested in comparing the
pros and cons of each in determining which would be better for work in
the field. I would like this unit to have GPS capabilities and know
that ArcPAD has a Trimble component available, but I am not sure about
the others. We currently use ESRI products, AutoCAD (14 and 2000i), and
Trimble Pro XR for GPS data collection in our GIS department.
I appreciate any thoughts on the matter!
