Subject: GISList: AV 8.1 Shared Edit & Mapinfo questions
Date:  09/25/2001 12:12:04 PM
From:  Pete Russell

Dear Listers,

This is basicly a venting email. I've been struggling with the Shared Edit
tool in AV 8.1. It's terrible. Anyone else trying to use it to any degree
will most likely agree with me. Does anyone know the people who developed
Atlas GIS (the DOS version, not the pathetic windows version, which is as
bad as Arcview, since you couldn't edit in the first version). Why has ESRI
not been able to develop software that works as well as an old DOS run GIS
from the early 90s?????

Next question: Is Mapinfo any better? Can you edit in it? I'm about fed
up with ESRI's inferior products. Anyone else out there feel the same? I
think they're the Microsoft of GIS. That is meant as an insult, if you've
used Office.

Thanks for listening & any input would be nice.

Pete
