Keeping it simple and to the point check the following:
1-Check your IIS is working
-double click IE
-type http://localhost or your computer name
2-Install Java Run Time Environment. It's on the CD, but you need to
have it installed before you run ArcIMS setup.
3-Install and Check your JRUN is working
-Look for the test in ESRI ArcIMS Installation Manual (hard copy
or PDF)
4- Following all steps from this manual. It is pretty good, though a bit
confusing for a new comer!

I have trouble on installing ESRI's ArcIMS 3.1 using JRUN 3.0 as a
servlet. Please be kind to help me!
Installment Characteristics
- Using :
Ms Windows 2000 Advance Server
JRUN 3.0
JRun 1.3.0_02 install setup (included on ArcIMS CD Installer)
Ms IIS for Windows 2000
Ms Internet Explorer 5.5
Problem :
ArcIMS page can not be found when I activate ArcDiagnostics....

This installation is Custom installation... should i used typical
installation?
