Ramesh -
The maths involved in orthophotos is not trivial. You need to look at a few
good textbooks on photogrammetry (Wolfe's book, the title of which eludes
me, is excellent), and any edition of the Manual of Photogrammetry and
Remote Sensing. Basically, you'll need to be able to handle a least-sqares
adjustment of a projective transformation, and then work out how to deal
with height distortion locally. (I only have a high-level understanding of
this stuff, I must confess.)
For a start, have a look at:

which is the website for the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote
Sensing.
