The correct address for MapInfo-L is
MapInfo-L@lists.directionsmag.com. People have been trying the old
address at csn.com, but that's now blocked. Since Qwest bought out
csn.net and run off CSN's existing customers, that domain has become
a ceaseless source of spam, so we no longer accept relayed messages
through there.

The correct address for MapInfo tech support is
techsupport@mapinfo.com.

As to your question, I don't have the answer. I thought Excel 97 can
handle MI maps, but maybe it has to be Excel 2000. I don't use this
feature often enough to know for sure what to tell you.
