Hi Luis,
there is no connection between color number and its RGB values - you can assign any of 256 color numbers to any color (menu - settings - color table... Double click on any color). You can create and save as many color palettes as you want, set colors in RGB 0-255, RGB 0-1, HSV or CMY, choose from the list of named colors or pick a color from the color field. Note, that the last color number is assigned to the background. Of course, there are some default values, but usually they are adjusted for project needs.
