Subject: GISList: The SDTS flurry - Original message misunderstood
Date:  12/23/2001 09:22:53 PM
From:  Jason Lampitt

Hello to both lists,

Quite the flurry of messages from both lists regarding
SDTS data spawned from my original message titled,
"Wow! SDTS data overload".

Although other related issues seem to have been
solved, I think my original message was misunderstood.
What I was looking for was some sort of documentation
that might further define the huge amounts of data
that Manifold allows me to view.

There's no problems with the data (at least in the
quads I'm interested in) I just need a glossary of
sorts to help unscramble all the blasted acronyms,
abbreviations, etc.

P.S. For those interested I use MicroDEM to uncompress
the *.tar.gz SDTS files WinZip has given me too much
grief. I usually put all the information for one quad
into a single directory for that quad and then add the
master data dictionary files to that directory for all
the data in one quad to share. Works great!
