Hi Jason,
Go to http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/DLG/LARGE_SCALE/
There is a readme that states:
You must download the Master Data Dictionary (MDD), (00MASTERDD_LRG.SDTS) Version 3.0, which is meant to be used in conjunction with a Large Scale (DLG-3) SDTS transfer to form a fully compliant SDTS/Topological Vector Profile (TVP) transfer. The MDD can be found in this directory as a compressed tar file, (00MASTERDD_LRG.SDTS.tar.gz), or as separate uncompressed files in the 00MASTERDD_LRG.SDTS directory. Please refer to the "README" file found at /data/DLG/LARGE_SCALE/00MASTERDD_LRG.SDTS for more MDD information.
That file is here http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/DLG/LARGE_SCALE/
I've just done that and I am in the process of pulling all this together in Manifold, but I think this is what you may need. (Nice timing on the question as I found myself in the same muddle today.)
Best of Luck.
On Friday, December 14, 2001 you sent the following message:
JL> Although other related issues seem to have been JL> solved, I think my original message was misunderstood. JL> What I was looking for was some sort of documentation JL> that might further define the huge amounts of data JL> that Manifold allows me to view.
JL> There's no problems with the data (at least in the JL> quads I'm interested in) I just need a glossary of JL> sorts to help unscramble all the blasted acronyms, JL> abbreviations, etc.
