Folks,
I'm organising a mountaineering expedition to eastern Tien Shan Range in
Kyrgystan (state ex USSR). I have a problem as there are very few (if any)
reliable maps of the area that we intend to visit so I thought that I would
construct my own. I have tried DTED Level 0 from NIMA but there is
insufficient detail from this data to be really useful. However, I
understand that Level 1 data may be suitable (Level 2 ideally but I suspect
that this is not for general release !). Does anyone know of a (free)
source of this data ? or any other resource which might help me achieve my
aim ? I would be very grateful for any information,
