Hi all,
ArcIMS 3.1, Win2k, Tomcat/ServletExec, IIS, SQL Server Proposed configuration is a distributed environment = 5 clustered webservers with TomCat/Servlet Exec and the ArcIMS Servlet Connector communicating with an App Server and Spatial Server on the one server. ArcSDE and SQL Server db are on a separate server.
1. Has anyone successfully built such a configuration i.e. with multiple web servers? I know it is possible but is it going to work. I would really appreciate anyone recommendatios etc.
2. Due to cost I am leaning towards TomCat. Has anyone any opinions that would recommend another Servlet Engine?
3. How many MapServices are usually created for an application? I am dealing with an area the size of Wales, UK.
4. Has anyone any strong opinions on the HTML Viewer versus the Java Custom Viewer in terms of performance and ability to be modified? I am swaying towards the Java Viewer but I would like to hear of others' experiences.
Regards,
Aisling Horgan
