Hello to both lists,
I've posted many times before but this time my subject is not related to a "how to".
For the time being, I'm an interactive developer and graphic designer working for a strategic business communications firm in the Denver area.
On a personal level I've been interested in cartography and the representation of geographic information as it's presented in the printed form for quite a while. To help me understand, I started creating and publishing trail maps. However, as an interactive developer I want to take things further and begin thinking about how all this information will be used (or perhaps already is) as interactive content with a high level of realism and fluidity based on the needs of the user.
My next steps are to begin experiments in this area but I'm curious how those of you who are immersed in the GIS field day in/day out see the future of GIS and the application of interactivity into the field.
My goal is to one day combine my years of experience in graphic design and interactive development and port it into the GIS field.
Please email me directly with any comments.
Thanks!
Jason L.
