Dawn is right in saying that ArcView is much simpler when it comes to
handling plots.

Actually it all depends upon what type of a plot one requires. If it is an
ordinary plot go for ArcView. But if you really need something special go
for AutoCAD because here you'll find all the tools to "customize" each and
every entity of your plot.

But remember plotting with AutoCAD can be very messy sometimes!
