Thanks for that hint. If anyone knows of a tool that will replace Flash with a stub that doesn't do anthing let me know. You can't just uninstall the beast, it just keeps nagging you to install it again and again. IMO Flash is worse than spam.
There is also an entry under Internet Options, Advanced, Play Animations that will kill some of the other animation.
Problem is there is quite often good information that one would like access to that is made available by prudent use of animation and Flash. Screen real estate is finite and having the ability to replace portions of the screen on a periodic basis is a good alternative to shrinking down content.
It is too bad some sites abuse the tools and cause some of us to disable this useful aspect of web browsers.
