Lyn,
Older (~10 years) Landsat TM data from the NASA DataBuy program should be
available for Azer. and Cyprus. This data has been orthorectified, and can
be purchased from Earth Satellite Corporation and/or may also be available
through USGS Gateway / EarthExplorer sites. The person to contact at
EarthSat is Eleanore Meredith or Richard Borda in customer service
(301-231-0660).

If you need any help in delivering your geospatial content to Web
browser-based users (either GIS professionals or GIS beginners), let us
know. We have a public access Afghanistan (and environs) Internet mapping
site which demo our Web-browser based Maplicity products, and seamlessly
integrate some of the public domain GIS and satellite imagery datasets that
are available from NIMA, USGS, and NIMA.

These are still essentially 1:1,000,000 scale datasets. This NASA Landsat
satellite imagery is actually resampled from 28.5m to 60m pixels, so
depending on who you talk to and what you are trying to map, it may be used
at larger scales than 1:1,000,000.
For more detailed data, you should check with LandInfo (www.landinfo.com) or
other data providers that offer digital data (often this is derived from the
Russian topographic maps series). If you can get to the Library of
Congress, they probably have some Russian maps in their archives and may
also have some NIMA ones as well. Of course, it will probably be less
expensive to buy the data products that are already out there on the shelf.

Hello All!
Several weeks ago, I wrote looking for a data set for
Azerbaizan and Cyprus. I received two responses both
for 1:1,000,000 data sets, Global something and ADC
WorldMap.
We are greatly in need of data sets, especially for
Azerbaizan, at a higher scale. Please if anyone has
any direction to offer, please forward.
