Rick,

Try the Standards link at http://mcmcweb.er.usgs.gov/sdts/ I think it was
this site where in the past I downloaded detailed SDTS documents (hundreds
of pages for each part) that had the specific struture of each SDTS file
type. I was able to identify and edit the logical record header byte in
some 30m DEMs that seems to be indigestible to the ArcView SDTS import
program.
