Subject: Re: GISList: INFO required on smallworld

From:  David Nealey

Santosh,

You can get info about SmallWorld GIS using the website below:
http://www.smallworld-us.com/english/products/spatial/

When GE purchased the company a year or so ago it seems that certain links
no longer worked but a simple IE search using "GE Smallworld" will find the
site.

In the past, I have been able to access and download detailed material
about SmallWorld products including excellent whitepapers about 'long
transactions' and other advanced technologies developed by this innovative
company. In particular you should review the papers presented at SmallWorld
user conferences. For example check out the papers at
http://www.smallworld-us.com/english/events/smallworld2001/emea/presentation
s.asp. Theses are some of the best web papers on advanced GIS technologies
that I have found by users and the manufacturers' people.

In the US, the company focuses on the utilities industry. This week GE
SmallWorld has a large team of people at the GITA conference here in Tampa.
Several of their sales/marketing people were on the plane with me on
Saturday.

Good luck finding the information you want.

LDN
