Hello everyone,
Manifold SP1 (Service Pack 1) is now available to Manifold licensees at no charge from the 5.00 Support page on the manifold.net website. In Manifold System, click on Help - Manifold on the Web - Online Support.
Note: SP1 won't function unless you have previously installed Manifold 5.00 from the Manifold CD.
SP1 introduces numerous new features as well as bug fixes for a total of 150 listed improvements. SP1 is the first GIS compiled using Visual Studio .NET. This allows many performance gains, including special optimizations for Pentium IV processors. Internal Manifold improvements include numerous optimizations that result in visibly faster (in some cases dramatically faster) spatial operations, extended capabilities and new commands. Other new features include hotlinks, improvements in print layouts, legending, surfaces, etc.
See the 5.00 Support page or the News page on the manifold.net web site for links to the complete release notes listing all 150 improvements and a summary of new features. All Manifold licensees should download and install SP1.
If you are not a Manifold licensee: See why GIS users say that Manifold's service packs deliver more new improvements for free than the new product versions sold by other GIS vendors - Check out the list of new features in SP1 and see if you agree!
Cheers,
Dimitri
