Subject: RE: GISList: DEM

Steve,
ESRI has a free extension, on their Water Resources Disk, that was developed
by the University of Texas, that will delineate watersheds, as well as do
HEC/RAS and other watershed-type stuff! It is fairly easy to use...you
might contact them to see if there is a downloadable version, or if it
available through their website. I have used it, and it works quite well!
"An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually
winning over and converting its opponents: What does happen is that the
opponents gradually die out."
Max Planck, as quoted in "Shorter Bartlett's Familiar Quotations," by John
Bartlett, 1937, 1980, 1992.

Subject: GISList: DEM

1. I am having trouble getting the DEM projected right. I have 6
downloaded. Four of which are where they should be. The other 2 are
about 300,000 feet west of where they should be. I have tried using
different projections and units and nothing has fixed the problem. Any
suggestions?
2. Where can I find good information on creating watershed files in
either 3.2a or ArcGIS 8.1(ArcView or ArcInfo).

Thank You
Steve
