I was wondering if there was any easy way to discover the market breakout of
the big eight of desktop GIS? For example, how many MapInfo Professional
users were there really in January 2002? Or what sort of percentage of the
ArcView 3.X community has shifted to ArcView 8.X? How many internet sites
actually use MapXpream versus ArcIMS? How many of Oracle's data
installations include active spatial indexing? Is there any significant
information on our industry's health and product adoptions? Could this be a
quarterly review on one of the lists by our webmasters? Or is it really a
puzzle that each much cipher based on fragments of news?
