Subject: Re: GISList: Downloading DRG from GIS data depot

From:  Robert Heitzman

>What are some other locations that USGS DRGs can be downloaded for free?

http://mcmcweb.er.usgs.gov/drg/free_drg.html

Lists some of the sources for drg downloads.

California DRGs are available via http://gis.ca.gov although these are in
the Teale projection used for other CA statewide GIS data available at the
same site.

http://www.topowest.com/ "The Free Topo Foundation" provides an index of
free DRGs which has links to the Internet sites that at least once upon a
time had free download files. They appear to have most of the topos at
reduced resolution, with world files, available from their site. I haven't
tried to georegister any of these so... The also have the USGS metadata for
each topo which is pretty rare.
