Subject: GISList: consultant management
Date:  06/10/2002 07:58:37 AM
From:  Anthony Quartararo

Dear Listers,

Not a GIS specific question, but germane nevertheless.

Problem: Managing multiple consultants on multiple projects, globally.

What I am specifically looking for is either a product reference or
suggestion on home-grown apps that others have used to manage a work force
of rather autonomous consultants that work on various client engagements
domestic and international. I've got a band-aid solution now that works,
because the pool of active consultants is relatively small, but it is
stretching the boundaries of what is possible without further development.

I've gone so far as to evaluate things like salesforce.com and substitute
(mentally at least) the "C" in CRM for Consultants. Doesn't quite work, but
the model is there. Oh, and extra points if there is a map GUI interface &
functionality.

I thought this was relevant to the list because I am aware that many primes
and major subs out there use an army of independents to get some work done,
just wondering if someone realized the potential for a product solution and
would like to share. Thanks.

Anthony Quartararo

ps. will sum.
