Hi GIS Folks,
Looking for a product recommendation, if you please.
I'm a developer of educational maps that span areas as big as whole countries or larger.
Most of my processing happens in PhotoShop as the maps are for kids (and big kids), but there is a basic raster backdrop or two and a layer of vector data (roads, state borders etc) on top.
I need to get my projections right, since my source data is likely to include the GLOBAL DEM or similar. Some of my projections might be unusual due to the thematic nature of the maps - so a flat platte carre projection won't do.
Can anyone recommend a Windows or Linux package suitable for simple projection and re-rasterisation of lat/long data with an initial vector layer? My company is a horde of one ...
thanks very much,
regards, Nigel.
