Soime weeks ago, I rise the question about AVL software and complete system solutions. Thanks to all those that sent a response, it was very helpful.
Now I have another question regarding tracking communication between mobile and base station. It looks like there is a cost/benefit and future technologies questions that is going to become very important to make a decision on what type of telecommunications network you use for tracking assets. There is a emerging new technology brought about by the new LEO (Low earth orbit) satellites with world wide coverage and very well suited for data transfer, that now is being offered by several companies and looks like there will be more competitors, which is good for all (lower cost). On the other hand, we have cellular technologies, that are evolving quickly and getting more and more into data transfer bussiness. Apart from traditional RF frequencies being used everywhere.
The question is, what will be the best choice for base station - mobiles communication when setting up an AVL system, in terms of cost, reliability and coverage in the near future, not only for the company that wants to runs its own system and track its fleet, but also to companies that would like to provide that service through Internet to others?
Thanks List in advance for the response.
