Subject: GISList: ArcIMS printing DPI capabilities?
Date:  06/11/2002 03:40:27 PM
From:  Weaver, Chris

Theoretical question:

I assume that most everyone sets the DPI resolution for ArcIMS map
graphic resolution for delivery via the web at 72dpi

Is there a way to raise the dpi for high quality printing of the image
while also keeping the 72dpi web image as the default?

Example:
Say delivery of images online @ 72. User presses print button and the
same image is delivered at 600dpi for high quality printing.

I'm guessing it can be done via using two separate mapservices tied
together by their "extents" one delivering for web, the other for
printouts. Can anyone else think of a different way to do this? Am I
missing something in the documentation?

Thanks! Have a great day!

Chris
