http://www.wotsit.org/ lists most formats for data files, if you find
another one I'm sure they would be interested.
.MAP is listed as a data file format for a Borland product.

Professional 5 use the .map extension for its project/componet files but
this is not a data file per se.
I'd guess other tools may also use .map for some files. To help you get a
clue, if you are trying to figure out the nature of the file, open it with
WordPad. You may see some stringas that help you figure out what it is.
