I don't know where you get your numbers, but simple arithmetic would
indicate ESRI has not remotely taken in the dollar volumes in revenue
implied by 250,000 ArcGIS 8.x licenses. If you multiply 250,000 by the
average selling price of ArcGIS 8.x you get a larger number than they've
booked in the last few years. If that were true one would not hear quite
so many tales of finanical unhappiness and desperate resumes coming out of
Southern California. Then again, perhaps you assume a very low selling
price for AG8.x. What do you think is the average per-seat buy in?
