Subject: GISList: Looking for Land Use GIS/Database System
Date:  07/31/2002 03:19:21 PM
From:  Matt Stull

GIS List

I am looking for a lost cost GIS/Database application or ideas for an
application for a "Land Use Database System". This system is for a small
City government and will be used mostly by the City planning department.
This system would have the ability to do query's of the County Assessors
Database and output results in different formats like mailing lists, tables,
spreadsheet, etc.. I was thinking of creating a customized ArcView 3.2
interface since this City already owns it. This City has a limited budget
so please don't suggest some high end ArcIMS solution because it isn't
going to happen. I was also thinking maybe some kind of web based system
using ASP or something like that. I would especially like to hear from City
planners on what they might think would be good in such a system. Thanks
for any thoughts you have!

Matt
