Hi Rock fish,
Yes, this can be done in AutoCAD Map and also in
Arcinfo the principle procedure of working will be the
same..
It goes like this in Arcinfo:
1. You identify a minimum of 4 control points whole
geodetic values you know on the vector layer, so that
these points covers the whole of your vector layer
2 create a empty geodetic coverage of these tics and
Project this empty from local non earth to Lat/long
wgs84
3. Now Transform your vector layer from non earth
vector file to the required geodetic projection.
(sorry it may be little confusing)
I know these is a better method in AutoCAD Map where
you can warp your local non earth vector file to the
projection require.
Just wait and watch for the AUTOCAD Map wiz's to
reply..
