Subject: Re: GISList: Help in calculation of eigenvalue and eigenvector
Date:  07/31/2002 03:19:23 PM
From:  David.Irving .. santos.com

Although this is a reasonable intro to scientific programming (the FORTRAN
version is actually pretty good), I have read comments by numerical
analysts which are critical of the programs and functions given in this
book, for reasons of both efficiency and numerical stability.

Buy a copy of Numerical Recipes in C. You can view the book for free at
www.nr.com. Incidentally, most of the algorithms in this book (there are
hundreds) translate readily into Basic, MapBasic, Avenue, Java, and most
other procedural languages.
