I was wondering if anyone out there might be able to answer a couple of essential issues as regards MapPoint 2002.
http://www.microsoft.com/office/mappoint/default.asp
a) Are there layer creation features included beyond geocoding of data points?
b) What sort of format are the MapPoint "maps" kept in and is this format defined in the open?
c) Do EXCEL maps register in MapPoint?
d) Does MapPoint 2002 absorb known formats like SHP, MIF/MID, or TAB (legacy due to MapInfo's legacy in Excel's Mapping feature)?
e) Does anyone have insight as to what MapPoint 2002.NET may mean for GIS in general?
Thats all for now - will sum.
