What application are you using to attempt this? ArcView?
I believe there is a script for this on the script download page under
ESRI.
If you are using AutoCAD then there is no problem closing "joining and
closing" the polygons before they are brought into ArcMap.

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom with respect to cleaning and building
(as is possible in Arc/Info), of line theme shape files please.
Is there an extension which converts my plate of spagetti into something
without gaps and dangles.
