Subject: GISList: Seeking advice...............
Date:  08/19/2002 12:14:12 AM
From:  Ishfaq Mohammad

Hi dears,

I have got some problem. I am using USGS data in one of my projects for
multivariate analyses. It is in ArcInfo “.e00 format”. I used the ArcView
3.1 ‘import71’ utility to import them in to ArcView 3.1 readable format that
is “something.adf” Now if I add them to a view with out any projection
information, it is ok, but when I try to use the projection parameters
provided in the metadata file I get the message saying

“One or more of the data sources you have chosen is not in decimal degrees.
This data can’t be projected to match this view’s projection. The theme(s)
will be added but won’t display properly”.

Is it because the projection parameters in the metadata are greater then
what ArcView3.1 accepts? Dear folks, any insights to work around this
problem would be highly appreciated.
