Subject: GISList: reprojecting images

(please pardon any cross-postings)

Hello,

I am running AV 3.2 on Win98, and have a question about reprojecting
images.

I have been given unreferenced JPG files and asked to georeference/warp
them (Georgia State Plane West, NAD83, US Feet) to serve as background
for
some pre-existing shape files.

Unfortunately, the shape files have very little data associated with
them,
so I cannot directly georeference the photos from the shape files. I
can,
however, georeference the photos with a USGS topographic map (UTM,
NAD27,
meters).

The final step, which I cannot seem to figure out, is to reproject the
UTM
to GA State Plane (changing the world file seems to simply move the
image
so that the upper left corner is in the correct place, but hasn't
rotated/warped any of the pixels to create an exact fit).

I've tried searching for answers to this problem, but the few
suggestions I
found either did not work or were not applicable (e.g. use AV 8.1). I
would
love to know how to do this, as I'm sure this will come up again
repeatedly
in the future with a variety of projections.

Can anyone suggest a solution (I will summarize)? Thank you very much
for
your time and help,

Chris
