Subject: GISList: Map2go WebViewer, Please check this out..
Date:  09/15/2002 01:09:02 PM
From:  info map2go.biz

Dear GIS Professional:

Map2Go an Edmonton based mapping company has just released a web viewer for
publishing and managing GIS data over the Internet.

Map2Go WebViewer is quite impressing java client/server software. It is
based on 14 years experience in mapping and display engines. It's indeed, a
major breakaway from most web-based mapping programs that basically create
the whole map as a raster image on the server and deliver it to an image
viewer client.
Map2go WebViewer uses sophisticated methods of decimation and compression to
deliver data to the client machine, which takes care of all the drawings and
even some of the processing reducing the server load.

Some of the many features are:

Large display size
Speed and flexibility on the client side
Direct support for ESRI shape files (no conversion or pre-processing)
Full Support for most popular raster format: BMP, FlashPIX, GIF, JPEG, PNG,
PNM, and TIFF.
SQL queries
Java for multi-platform
Full XML configuration

For more information and online demo, please visit http://www.map2go.biz

Sincerely,

Halim Elkhalidy
