Hi, Elevation map i understand is the polygons with the range of height (20 to 25, 25 to 30 likewise). This can be prepared using the GRID/TIN module of ArcInfo. I hope this is only for visualisation as u can use ur DEM itself for any of ur analysis which may be more accurate. Most of other software (GIS / Photogrammetry) also provides u the chance of visualising the terrain in psuedocolour range.
