Hello list members,
I, m completely new to GIS so I hope you'll be patient!
I been carrying out a site specific land investigation and have gathered a large amount of information in the form of maps, photographs (orthophoto, video, pics), geology, borehole data, weather data, reports and data bases of analytical results etc. Much of the information is rich in geographical entities, including addresses, X,Y,Z coordinates etc.
I'd like to crate a GIS based on mapObjects, none of our staff have ever used a GIS so I'm looking for a user friendly interface.
As I'm new to GIS I not clear what information and the level of detail required to enable someone to build a GIS. Also is there a standard format for supplying the information? Are there any standard GIS specifications, functional specs etc. Help!
Looking forward to your comments.
