New York, Oregon and Washington communities!

What: How To Do A Local Demographic Analysis Workshop (one day workshop)
Where & When: Boston (Oct 15,16), NYC (Nov 7,8), Portland, Oregon (Oct
31,Nov 1), Seattle (Nov 11,19)

This workshop is designed for human service providers, neighborhood
activists, grant writers, planners or anyone who would like to easily look
up and analyze demographic data. This workshop focuses on income and race
data but also includes many other data variables.

This is a basic level, hands on workshop that will teach you how to
access, analyze, and present 2000/1990 Census (SF3), American Community
Survey (ACS) and Census Supplemental information. The Census collects
detailed data on race, income, language, transportation, workforce and
housing characteristics and many other interesting social characteristics.
Although the focus of this workshop is each individual city, learned
techniques are applicable to ANY location.

Former Participant Comments:
1. Great Job! There is lots of material to digest. It was great! (Latino
Network, Portland, OR)
2.The materials were excellent and what I liked best about the course was
that it was hands on. The class was very helpful and useful. (Action for
Boston Community Development, Boston, MA)
3. I like that the class was not generic, that it was tailored to our
specific community. (Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay, Boston, MA)
4. The practical application of the information was great. I can see
myself using this information on many projects. (Human Services Research
Institute, Portland, OR)
