Multipath- a factor affecting positioning accuracy, wherein a satellite
signal arrives at a receiver via more than one path due to proximity of
large reflecting obstacles such as buildings, water towers, cliffs and
bodies of water.
Topography that limits the horizon is always a factor because that affects
the number of available satellites. When surveying canyons and v-shaped
valleys good mission planning is critical in order to be in the field when
the optimum number of satellites are available with the best satellite
geometry for positioning accuracy.
